News has confirmed that Modern Family actress Julie Bowen filed for divorce from her husband Scott Phillips on Tuesday, less than a week after it was reported that the couple had separated.
Bowen has cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakup, and she is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their three children, according to documents obtained by E! News.
Bowen is also requesting that the court be prevented from awarding Phillips spousal maintenance. The actress also included the couple’s separation date of December 17, 2017.
Since their September 2004 wedding, Bowen and Phillips, a real estate investor, have welcomed three children into the world as a married couple.
