The Chicago Police Department reports that a 23-year-old woman was shot on a CTA bus on the South Side of Chicago on Tuesday night.
The victim was a woman who, at around 8:10 p.m., got into a fight with an unknown person on a bus in the 7100 block of South Jeffery Boulevard, where the incident was reported by the police.
Shots were fired, and one of them hit the woman in the collarbone area, as reported by the police. It was determined that her condition was stable enough to transfer her to the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago. No one was arrested, as far as we can tell from the news reports. It’s still early in the investigation process.
According to the police report, the 23-year-old woman got into a fight with another bus passenger. According to CPD, the other passenger produced a firearm and began firing.
At about 8:10 p.m., officers responded to the 7100 block of South Jeffery Blvd. in response to a shooting. Police reported that the woman was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck in the collarbone.
Police have not made any arrests and have provided no suspect information. Local law enforcement is currently conducting an investigation.
