Is Bella Ramsey Bisexual? Sexuality And Mental Health Details!

The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey has spoken publicly about her transition. During an interview with The New York Times before the premiere of the show.

I feel like my gender has always been very fluid,” Ramsey admitted. When people addressed me as “she” or “her,” I didn’t give it much thought. However, I knew that being addressed as “he” was a little bit exciting. Now, Ramsey says she selects “nonbinary” on forms whenever possible.

Ramsey has stated that she is neutral regarding the use of pronouns. Her defining characteristic was her humanity: “I’m very much just a person,” she declared. “Being gendered is not something I enjoy, but I really don’t care about pronouns.”

It was “pleasant,” according to Ramsey, to be nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award in the gender-neutral category of best young actor/actress for her role in Catherine Called Birdy in December.

Is Bella Ramsey Gay?

Ramsey’s sexuality has been the subject of persistent rumors and speculation. There has been much speculation as to whether or not she identifies as gay or non-binary.

During an interview with The New York Times before The Last of Us was released, the Catherine Called Birdy star addressed the concerns. She denied being gay and stated that her gender identity is fluid.

Ramsey stated that when given the option, she always writes “nonbinary” on forms. “I guess my gender has always been very fluid,” she said to explain her identity.

She continued by addressing pronouns, at which point she admitted that she was uncomfortable with being categorized based on her gender. I am merely a human being, that much is true. She said, “I don’t like being gendered, but I don’t give a hoot about the pronouns either way.”

She also mentioned that she liked it when people used he/him pronouns to refer to her. She explained, “I didn’t really care if people called mesh or ‘her,’ but I did find it mildly exciting if they called me ‘he.'”

Bella Ramsey, Who Plays Ellie In The Last Of Us, Has Said That Audiences Need To “Get Used To” Queer Storylines

The HBO Max show, which is based on a video game, features openly gay and queer romances, in case you were wondering. Furthermore, it appears that the producers of The Last of Us are also adapting these narratives for the big screen.

The third episode, for instance, featured a gay love story between the characters Bill and Frank. Also, this isn’t the whole story. Despite Bella Ramsey’s nonbinary gender identity in real life, her TV character is a lesbian. There will also be a transgender character, Lev, featured in the Pedro Pascal-led post-apocalyptic series.

The former Game of Thrones actress talked about the homophobic backlash that The Last of Us received after the third episode in a recent interview with GQ UK magazine, saying that audiences will just have to “get used to it.

” To paraphrase, “I’m not particularly anxious about it,” she said. People will think whatever they want to think, and I accept that. However, they will have to adjust. You’re missing out if you choose not to watch the show simply because it features gay or transgender characters or plots.

My fear level will not rise because of it. Saying, “I think that comes from a place of defiance,” Ramsey explained to the magazine why he believed that to be the case.

Bella Ramsey Discusses Her Struggles With Mental Illness

In regard to her mental health, Ramsey has always been open and honest. Recently, she opened up to Elle about her decision to leave The Worst Witch after season three and how learning that she is neurodivergent influenced her decision.

According to Forbes Health, “Neurodivergent is a non-medical umbrella term that describes people with variation in mental functions, and can include conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other neurological or developmental conditions such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).”

For years, Ramsey had been considering the possibility that she is neurodivergent, a condition she now accepts. When asked about her experience, she said, “It was cool to see, to have that, and to really understand my own brain by being able to understand other people’s.”

Ramsey also admitted she had anxiety as a child, but that it didn’t become an issue until she “began working in high-pressure circumstances.” It’s common knowledge that she had to leave The Worst Witch due to her mental health.

She elaborated, “I would say the more accurate description is that I had resolved a lot of my mental health problems by that point.” And then there was the thought, “I’m not going to do this fourth season because it’s not worth it because I’m in a better place now.”

Conclusion

She said that doctors were unable to determine what caused her eating disorder, but that her Christian faith helped her overcome it.

No matter how dark the tunnel may be, there is always light at the end of it. Getting there was a miracle in and of itself; there were times when I thought the light would never come. However, she noted, “it was present at all times.”
