Thankfully, we won’t have to endure a similar ordeal to Michael Strahan’s abrupt departure that we did with Ryan. The change will go down without a hitch this time since everyone is on board with the strategy.
Kelly’s real-life husband of 27 years, Mark Consuelos (not her on-screen husband), will take over for Ryan. He’s a familiar face from the CW show Riverdale. Besides being Kelly’s husband, he has previously filled in as a co-host with Kelly while Ryan has been away on vacation, so he’s an obvious choice.
Kelly will still miss Ryan, though. Kelly said in an interview with Vanity Fair, “I’m so grateful to have spent the last six years beside my dear friend of too many decades to count and will miss starting my days with Ryan.”
