Lady Gaga isn’t playing around with her Joker: Folie à Deux performance. On Saturday, the actor was spotted filming in New York for Todd Phillips’ Joker sequel, which is the follow-up to Phillips’ 2019 Oscar-winning hit. The images, which provide the first look at Gaga in costume and full makeup for her role, appear to confirm that she is playing DC’s, Harley Quinn.
On February 14, Phillips posted an up-close photo of Gaga holding co-star Joaquin Phoenix’s face to Instagram, giving fans their first look at the singer in character. The director captioned the photo with “Happy Valentine’s Day” at the time.
In December, the director revealed production had begun by posting a picture of Phoenix in costume. The 2019 best actor Oscar winner returns as Arthur Fleck in the sequel, featuring a script by Phillips and Scott Silver.
The $1 billion-grossing Warner Bros. film Joker centered on Fleck, an aspiring comedian with mental health issues. The medical term for a mental illness affecting multiple family members is “Folie à Deux,” which is the inspiration for the sequel’s title.

Final Words
Robbie told MTV News in October 2022, “It makes me so happy because I said from the very beginning, all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters, the way like Macbeth or Batman always gets passed from great actor to great actor.
Robbie continued, “It’s such an honor to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters that other actors get a try at playing,” she said. I have faith that she will take that opportunity and run with it.
