The United States is fortunate to have its own Ghostbusters to help in the fight against ghosts and other paranormal creatures. However, what about us? Yes, even in Britain, people can experience ghostly phenomena.
With the release of Lockwood & Co. on Netflix, an adaptation of Jonathan Stroud’s young adult novel series, things have finally evened out on the other side of the pond. With Joe Cornish (Writer, Director, Attack the Block) on board, our only “problem” is that eight episodes won’t be enough to fill a season.
The second season of Lockwood & Co. is now available on Netflix, so get some salt bombs and come hang out with us here at Digital Spy as we discuss everything you need to know about it.
Date For The Possible Second Season Of Lockwood & Co.
Within a couple of months of a show’s premiere on Netflix, the streaming service will announce whether or not it will be renewed, a process that can take another 12–18 months. The second season of Lockwood & Co., assuming it gets renewed, would premiere in the spring of 2024.
Netflix has been on what can only be described as a cancellation spree as of late, so in order for the adaptation to have any hope of being renewed, it will need to attract a large audience.

Joe Cornish, the show’s creator, recently confirmed to Empire that Season 1 covers the first two books of Stroud’s five-book series: “So there’s definitely a couple more seasons in the books.” Cornish claims that the show’s continuing story will definitely please viewers if Netflix decides to renew the show.
“The story in the books is very well-plotted,” he said. As his series progresses, Jonathan Stroud’s worldbuilding becomes more solid, and he comes up with increasingly ingenious ways to explore it. The story actually progresses and resolves. We’d be excited to do more, so yeah.
What Will Happen In Lockwood & Co. Season 2?
There were some loose ends left at the end of the first arc of Lockwood & Co. The fate of Lockwood’s parents figures prominently among these questions. Although we learn early on that they have both perished, Anthony’s run-in with the Golden Blade suggests that there may be more to this history than meets the eye. Even Anthony is confused about what’s happening right now.

Lockwood’s upstairs room is another crucial plot element that needs to be explained. He has kept it hidden and secure all season, and he has repeatedly warned the others not to open it. However, eight episodes in, Anthony decides it’s time to stop keeping things hidden and reveal everything to his teammates.
The credits start up right as the door opens, so we’ll have to wait a while to find out what’s in here. Either Lockwood has something extremely embarrassing to hide, or he is trying to keep the others safe from something more sinister.
We’re betting on the latter, though it’s still unclear what this could be. Maybe there’s another portal or magical artifact that’s even more perilous than the mirror. Or perhaps Lockwood’s mummified parents are hidden away in there. At this time, there is no way to know for sure.
