They tweeted when the notion spread that “[the] first season concluded at chapter 39, [and] the manga is currently at chapter 79.” To immediately greenlight [season 3], Aniplex would like to see a larger gap.

Shinichi Fukuda’s My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisuku Dru wa Koi o Suru) is a romantic comedy manga series. The protagonist, a high school student named Wakana Gojo, is chronicled throughout the novel.
Wakana wants to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and make Japanese hina dolls. Wakana was teased about his attraction to girls when he was young, so he disguised it from everyone.

Marin Kitagawa, a prominent student, finds out that Wakana can sew and requests him to make a cosplay for her. Wakana is reluctant at first, but after making one outfit for her, he develops a deep interest in costuming. A cosplayer and a high school kid embark on an odd love tale.
My Dress-Up Sweetheart is a presently running manga series in the Japanese magazine Young Gangan. There are currently 9 books in the series, with sales of over 7 million. The anime adaptation was announced in April 2021, and it premiered in January of 2022, during the Winter Anime Season.
CloverWorks, a division of Aniplex, is responsible for animation production. The studio’s credits include Darling in the Franxx, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and Spy x Family.
