Rumors that Olivia Wilde dumped fiancé Jason Sudeikis for Harry Styles have been shot down by the actress. The director of the upcoming psychological thriller “Don’t Worry Darling,” Wilde, 38, recently told Vanity Fair that her relationship with the “Ted Lasso” actor ended “long before” she met pop star Styles on the set.
The notion that I abandoned Jason in favor of Harry is completely false, Wilde stressed. Before I met Harry, I knew our relationship was over.
As Wilde went on to explain, “it doesn’t end overnight,” just like any other deteriorating relationship. Unfortunately, Jason and I had a rough road, and we ended things officially at the start of the pandemic.
After dating for two years, Wilde and Sudeikis finally tied the knot in 2015. Otis, 8, and Daisy, 5, are the parents’ children. In 2020’s November, the couple publicly announced their separation.
Wilde said that she and Sudeikis “co-parented” Otis and Daisy even after they split up. “Once it became apparent that cohabitating was no longer beneficial for the children, it became the responsible thing not to because we could be better parents as friends who live in different houses,” she said.
The ex-“House” star continued by saying that she has told her children the truth about the split. They get the importance of self-preservation and the value of following one’s own path if one wants to be truly happy. In fact, she admitted, “they do.
Wilde claimed that she and Sudeikis had broken up because she had changed as a person during their time together and no longer wanted to be with him.
“Anyone Could See They Had Potential”
When news of Olivia and Harry’s (both aged 28) new relationship spread in January 2021, it appeared that everything was going swimmingly.
Fans went wild after seeing photos of Olivia and Jason at the wedding of Harry’s manager two months after she announced their split. Somebody told People magazine: “This past weekend, [Olivia and Harry] attended a wedding in Montecito, California.
They cuddled up with each other, held hands, and appeared ecstatic. They’ve been seeing each other for about a month now. The two became acquainted on the set of Olivia director’s latest film Don’t Worry Darling.
“They clicked right away; they’re both very creative, passionate people, and it was one of those things where it was clear to everyone right away that there was chemistry between them,” said an insider.”
Somewhat Of A Jumble
While the two of them appeared to be very much in love, her ex-boyfriend of nine years, Jason Sudeikis, reportedly took the news very badly.
The news that Olivia had moved on with Harry, about whom she had gushed months earlier after casting him in the film Don’t Worry Darling, was said to have devastated Jason.
According to a source who spoke with The Sun, “This looked very Hollywood at first, but it’s a bit of a mess, and what actually went on looks very different, depending on who you ask.”
“People have tried to make out that Harry and Olivia have only been dating for the past few weeks, but that’s not right,” a source told Page Six.
When Jason learned that Harry was involved, he pushed the subject. The split was made public after Olivia asked for a separation. According to The Sun’s sources, Harry is blameless in this controversy because Olivia told him she was single before they started dating.

Intriguing Circumstances Led Her To Her Partners
The actress, who starred in House for five seasons before leaving in 2012, met Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) and Harry Styles (Don’t Worry Darling) on the sets of Saturday Night Live and Don’t Worry Darling, respectively. Her ex-husband, the filmmaker Tao Ruspoli, was 27 years older than she was when they first went on a date when she was 18 years old.
She shared that “it was hard to imagine settling down at the time” after her father suffered a minor heart attack in an interview with Women’s Health. There was a tidal wave of romantic euphoria and a profound awareness that we were meant to be a family.
She Alluded To Having Moments Of Parental “Failure”
Wilde has recently made comments that suggested she felt like a bad parent to her two children with screenwriter and actor Sudeikis. She captioned the post, directed at other parents, with the following: “I know it’s hard now and you sometimes feel like a huge f***ing failure, but soon they’ll wake up before you and write thoughtful notes.” Daisy is now five years old. Keep your chin up! Otis, her son, is eight years old.
To put it mildly, she had a very privileged upbringing. Wilde spent his childhood in both Washington, D.C. and Ireland; he went to the same boarding school as George Bush Sr. and George W. Bush; and renowned author Christopher Hitchens occasionally babysat him. Many famous people, such as Steven Spielberg and Mick Jagger, visited her at her childhood home.
Wilde’s romance with the British singer began three months after Styles joined her film and two months after she broke up with ex-fiance Jason Sudeikis. After being together for over a decade, Sudeikis and the Booksmart director had a son, Otis, and a daughter, Daisy.
