Rick And Morty Season 7: Date of Premiere, Has The Program Been Renewed?

Strange as it may seem to begin an essay on Rick and Morty on a somber note, the most recent season seven development is really disheartening.

Adult Swim fired Rick and Morty co-creator and voice actor Justin Roiland in January after he was accused of domestic violence.

The VP of communications at Adult Swim, Marie Moore, released a statement saying, “Adult Swim has discontinued its connection with Justin Roiland.”

In response to the accusations, Roiland’s attorney T Edward Welbourn said, “To be clear, not only is Justin innocent, but we also have every expectation that this issue is on course to be dismissed after the district attorney’s office has concluded its meticulous assessment of the material.”

Beginning with Season 7, the roles formerly played by Roiland will be recast. Nonetheless, production on the program continues, and we have faith that the massive production staff will maintain the excellent standards set by previous seasons in season seven.

Date For Season 7 Of Rick And Morty To Maybe Debut

Season seven of Rick and Morty has not officially announced its return date, although new episodes will premiere in 2023. Co-creator Dan Harmon startled even the fandom with the news that new episodes will be coming out once a year, as reported by The Wrap earlier this year.

Date For Season 7 Of Rick And Morty To Maybe Debut

“We’ll be doing a new season every year, which is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever said about the show and still doesn’t feel genuine to say. I just don’t see how that could ever work. But, this was never an issue while I was in charge.

Our ability to release on time is largely down to [showrunner] Scott [Marderability ]’s to keep us so far ahead of schedule.” Considering everything, season seven is likely to premiere in the summer of 2023, or at the very latest by the end of the year in September.

Rick himself gave a hint of what’s to come in his diatribe to Morty at the end of the season six finale, “Rickitional Mortpoon’s Rickmas Mortcation”:

“Episodes from the seventh season of Rick and Morty. I’m on the prowl for my archenemy. Not every episode, Morty, but it’s possible that you’re also trying to maintain your health and juggle a number of other responsibilities. Who can say for sure?”

Season 7 Of Rick And Morty's Storyline

The person who took our Rick’s Diane away from him, known as “Weird Rick,” will undoubtedly return as the season seven villain. Beyond that, though… Season six has finally listened to fans’ calls for more continuity by including more canon linkages.

Season six of Rick and Morty brought us Pissmaster, as well as some incestuous love between Beth and Space Beth, just when you thought the show couldn’t get any squander. Where will the squad go from here to top that in season seven?
