‘Scott Pilgrim’ Anime On Netflix Reunites Original Cast Members Like Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, And More!

Netflix has ordered an anime series based on Scott Pilgrim, reuniting the cast of the iconic 2010 film with new characters. Michael Cera, will voice Scott Pilgrim and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will return as Ramona Flowers.

Satya Bhabha, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, Johnny Simmons, Mark Webber, Mae Whitman, and Ellen Wong are also among the returning cast members. The anime series’ development at Netflix was first announced by The Hollywood Reporter a year ago.

Edgar Wright reworked the story for the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, in which Pilgrim battles Ramona Flowers’ seven ex-boyfriends. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World bombed at the box office but found success with a niche audience.

Wright remarked of Scott Pilgrim’s cast, “gathering and working with the dynamite cast of Scott Pilgrim was one of the proudest and most gratifying successes of my career.” Since the movie came out in 2010, we’ve done Q&As, retrospectives, and charity read-throughs, but we’ve never had the chance to get the complete gang back together to work on anything substantial.

Before now… An anime series of Scott Pilgrim has been dreamt up by original creator Bryan Lee O’Malley and writer BenDavid Grabinski. It does more than merely expand the universe; you’ll see for yourself.

To my great delight, I can now reveal that I was instrumental in convincing the whole original cast to reprise their roles as voice actors for this thrilling sequel. A pleasant surprise awaits you.
