There have been weeks of internet speculation about the pair, and now Selena Gomez has spoken out to defend Hailey Bieber against death threats the model has been receiving. And now Hailey, Justin Bieber’s wife, has issued a statement of her own in response to her husband’s.
After she and Hailey’s relationship rumors went viral, Selena Gomez said last month that she was taking a break from social media.
The two have known each other for over ten years and share a mutual friend in JB, which has helped keep them in close proximity. Selena and the singer had a whirlwind romance in 2011, but by 2019 Hailey was married to Justin.
Fans and observers alike haven’t let that stop them from trying to stir up trouble between the two of them, most recently by wondering if Hailey and her pals were shading Selena on TikTok.
Selena Gomez Has Asked For An End To The Attacks On Hailey Bieber’s Character
The singer and actress wrote, “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” on the Friday Instagram Story of her verified social media account.
This is not what I believe in,” Gomez writes in his note. When it comes to bullying and bigotry, no one should have to take it lying down. I’ve always been a supporter of the charity and would like to see an end to this.
Speculation that Bieber and her friend Kylie Jenner were referring to Gomez in a series of social media posts began a month before all of this. Gomez’s ex-boyfriend, the singer Justin Bieber, is married to Gomez’s rival, Hailey Bieber.
Last year in September, Hailey Bieber opened up on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast about the backlash she and her husband have faced from some Gomez fans ever since they announced their engagement.
A few days later, Gomez posted a video to TikTok in which she said, “It’s not fair because no one should ever be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen.”A few weeks later, at the annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, the two women posed for photos together.
Back In 2012, Hailey Tweeted About The Couple Once Again
After previously tweeting about Gomez and Justin around the Oscars, Glamour reports that Hailey did so once more. “I gotta say I was really looking forward to seeing what color coordination Jelena was going to do for this year’s VF party.. #sigh #ohwell,” she wrote, as quoted by Glamour.
Us Weekly reports that Hailey has called Gomez “beyond flawless” and has described her and Justin’s relationship as “perfect.” According to Us Weekly, Hailey shared “I’ll Kill You” by Summer Walker and Jhené Aiko on her Instagram story after Selena Gomez released her 2019 single “Lose You to Love Me.”
Hailey wrote in response to an Instagram post about speculation that she had shared the song in relation to Gomez’s single: “Put an end to this ridiculousness… This so-called “response” does not exist.”
Gomez Stood Up For Her Pal Madison Beer In 2020 When The Latter Was Attacked For Having Dinner With Hailey
According to an article in Elle from January 2020, Gomez, Hailey, and Beer were all at the same restaurant in Los Angeles on the same night. However, while Gomez was there to celebrate the release of her album “Rare,” Hailey and Beer were reportedly dining with other friends.
Apparently, Beer denied rumors that he, Hailey, and Gomez had a fight at the restaurant, which were spread on Twitter, as reported by Elle. After Gomez stopped following Beer on Instagram, some of his former followers started bullying him.

“The rumors are out of control. The last ten years have flown by, but I feel like we just had dinner together. Okay, so that’s it. What kind of crime is that? It’s no secret that I adore Selena “She shared her thoughts on social media. “And there is no way in hell that I would ever intentionally make her angry. This was completely unnecessary and cruel. It was purely coincidental; I have no idea why you’re picking on me.”
Gomez took matters into her own hands by responding to Beer’s post and re-following her.”It’s revolting to read all of this. There was no malice intended. I can’t believe people would treat someone so disrespectfully “As Elle reports, Gomez penned. “I’ve known Madison ever since she was a little girl, and I’ve loved seeing her grow up. Nothing wrong here.”
Raquelle Stevens, Selena Gomez’s best friend, received widespread criticism for her participation in the singer’s documentary. She feels that her experience can provide valuable insight to others. Stevens collaborated with radio personality Tanya Rad to pen a new self-help book titled The Sunshine Mind.
