Selena Gomez, an American singer, and actress have spoken publicly about her struggles with depression and lupus. She told Rolling Stone for their cover story that she started hearing voices and had psychosis in 2018.
Soon after, the 30-year-old was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and the doctors prescribed her several medications to determine what would work for her. In spite of this, she experienced serious side effects from these drugs.
Gomez described the effects of the medications as making her feel “like there was no part of her that was there anymore,” and she felt like she “was gone.”
Thanks to the help of her new psychiatrist, Selena Gomez is feeling better than she has in a long time. The star of Another Cinderella Story revealed that she had to “detox” from her medications and practice recalling forgotten vocabulary in order to regain her fluency in speech.
She elaborated by saying that it took a lot of effort to accept that she was bipolar and to learn how to deal with it “because it wasn’t going to go away.”
Infertility Is A Real Possibility For Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez told Rolling Stone magazine that she is worried about being able to have children while taking the medications she is currently prescribed.
After seeing a friend who was trying to conceive, the Round & Round singer sobbed in her car. She was afraid that the same thing wouldn’t happen to her. She told the media, though, that she is taking a hopeful view of things. She called it a “very big, big, present thing” in her life and promised that if she is destined to become a mother, she will.
Not for the first time has Selena Gomez spoken openly about her battles with mental illness. She came out as a lupus sufferer in 2017 and had a kidney transplant in June of that year.
After receiving a kidney from her friend Francia Raisa, the Wizards of Waverly Place star went into hiding for a while.According to what Selena Gomez told the magazine, her donated kidney might only last for another 30 years.
A Video Of Taylor Swift And Hailey Baldwin Has Surfaced Again, And Selena Has Come To Swift’s Defense
When a video from February 2023 surfaced on TikTok showing a seemingly dissing Hailey at the hands of the “All Too Well” singer, the “Monte Carlo” star came to Swift’s defense.
A clip of Hailey and Method Man hosting “Drop the Mic” with the latter making a “Reputation” reference from Taylor Swift’s 2017 album was shared on TikTok by user @duckcopycat0.
The rapper in the video boasts that the celebrities will engage in “the meanest lyrics about a celebrity since Taylor Swift’s last album” in a one-on-one rap battle. When she heard the name of the “Cardigan” singer, Rhode Skin’s founder made a gag gesture and shrugged her shoulders.
The original poster of the now-viral video titled “THIS is real Hailey ‘Bieber’ mean girl/matrona [Spanish for “bully”] / A Bully,” included a snake emoji in the caption.
Gomez, upon learning of the resurfacing video, rushed to her best friend’s defense, tweeting, “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”
Gomez announced her temporary hiatus from social media shortly after passing Kylie as Instagram’s most-followed woman in February 2023.
I am overjoyed; I feel extremely fortunate. Gomez said in a TikTok live, “I have the best friends and the best fans in the whole world, and I just couldn’t be happier,” while Kylie and Hailey were reportedly losing followers at an alarming rate.
